The Hutt City Council and Greater Wellington Regional
Council have undertaken a programme to assess the
nature and extent of contaminated sediments in the
Waiwhetu Stream. Options for addressing the
contaminated sediment problem have also been
considered. This work has resulted in the identification of
three options, which range from a natural attenuation
approach to partial diversion and removal of sediment.
MWH were commissioned to assess the risks associated
with these options.
