Volunteer in regional parks
http://www.gwrc.govt.nz/volunteer
So much of the work done in the regional parks wouldn't be achievable without the help we get from people in our communities.
There are many opportunities for you to volunteer over a number of different projects, activities and organisations.
Every year in our parks, more than 25,000 trees are planted by volunteers like you. Keep an eye out on our events page for community planting days where you can work alongside other volunteers and Greater Wellington people, to build a greater environment for our future. Find out why we plant here.
There are plenty of other opportunities to volunteer in the regional parks even if you don't have a green thumb. For example, check out Riding for the Disabled who are based at Battle Hill Farm Forest Park and have built a beautiful arena to call home, or the Friends of Baring Head who are working to restore the lighthouse cottages at Baring Head.
Have a look at the list below to see the different ways you can get involved in volunteering in the regional parks.
